STUDIO WORKSHOPS
are
held in my San Diego studio, on the outdoor terrace, weather
permitting (in San Diego, the weather usually cooperates
year-round). A delicious lunch is included for full-day
workshops.
A Loom
in a Tube will be provided for the class, and may be purchased
at the end of the class, or you may bring your own loom.
For
out-of-towners, studio workshops give you a reason to enjoy
some fine weather in San Diego. Transportation will be
provided to and from select local hotels. Please ask us for a
list of hotels.

Just in time
for the holidays, learn to make beautiful jewelry using the
kumihimo braiding technique. This is a new twist on a traditional
craft, with stunning results. You will have the opportunity to
complete a bracelet in the class, and will go home with the tools
and knowledge needed to continue braiding with beads. Fee includes
all materials.

Freeform Weaving with Yarn and
Beads

Freeform weaving provides a way to
explore the interaction of colors and textures with spontaneity.
The juxtaposition of beads and yarn creates
beautiful
contrasts in color and texture. Use this technique to weave purses,
pouches, tapestries and clothing.
You will learn
basic weft-faced weaving techniques, and how to interweave areas
of bead weaving. No weaving experience is required. Bring your own
loom or borrow one for the day from us.

You will be
able to weave geometric or pictorial designs with the skills
taught in this two-day workshop. Saturday will be spent learning
the foundations for tapestry weaving, including how to weave
vertical and diagonal lines for geometric shapes. Sunday will
build on these basics to introduce special techniques for weaving
curved lines essential for pictorial designs. Come for Saturday
only, or for both days.
